About me
I know what I’d want from an editor working on my own manuscripts, and I’d be disappointed by an editorial letter that only scratches the surface. If you LOVE getting deep into your own manuscript, learning and exploring, we’ll probably get along very well.
I’m an editor and a writer with a background in acting and screenwriting and a possibly concerning obsession with character psychology. Speculative fiction and romance are where I feel most comfortable, and my favourites are fantasy, dystopian, and fantasy-romance combinations. When I’m not buried in someone’s manuscript, I grow tomatoes, read obsessively, or get more or less lovingly judged by my cats.

Sahra critiqued a partial draft of a novel I was working on. At the time, I wasn’t sure if the book had a solid enough foundation to make it worth finishing. Sahra provided both a multi-page write-up of comments and an annotated pdf of my work. The feedback she gave was so helpful. She was specific in what worked and what didn’t, and why. Not only that, when it came to what did not work, she gave specific and actionable advice on how to improve it. This feedback gave me the confidence to finish the book and was invaluable when I did revisions. Furthermore, the critique gave me the confidence to write the rest of the books in the series, helped me to know what to look for during drafting, ultimately made drafting faster, and provided me with a scaffolding when it came to revising them.

I’m a newish writer and I was very nervous about showing my work with anyone. Sahra read through my short story and gave me a clear and detailed critique of my work with both line edits and from the point of view of a reader. She was very helpful and encouraging.
