About me
My path to editing was perhaps a bit unconventional; farms, Japanese studies, acting and screenwriting – but it brought me back where I belonged: books. I’ve been analysing stories compulsively since I was a child. Turning that into a profession in 2019 was probably inevitable. 😂 I’m also a writer, so I know what it’s like being lost in your own manuscript. Between client work and my own drafting, you’ll find me growing tomatoes, reading obsessively, or cuddling with my two cats, and spending time with my family. I’m bilingual, love music that doesn’t belong in the same playlist, and can’t resist blending things that shouldn’t go together.

Sahra critiqued a partial draft of a novel I was working on. At the time, I wasn’t sure if the book had a solid enough foundation to make it worth finishing. Sahra provided both a multi-page write-up of comments and an annotated pdf of my work. The feedback she gave was so helpful. She was specific in what worked and what didn’t, and why. Not only that, when it came to what did not work, she gave specific and actionable advice on how to improve it. This feedback gave me the confidence to finish the book and was invaluable when I did revisions. Furthermore, the critique gave me the confidence to write the rest of the books in the series, helped me to know what to look for during drafting, ultimately made drafting faster, and provided me with a scaffolding when it came to revising them.

I’m a newish writer and I was very nervous about showing my work with anyone. Sahra read through my short story and gave me a clear and detailed critique of my work with both line edits and from the point of view of a reader. She was very helpful and encouraging.
